Hello and thanks for reading. I grew up in the musically-rich state of Texas, playing everything from ABBA to ZZ Top, and I began teaching in the San Diego area about 3 years ago. My teaching career had been diverse, including teaching Guitar classes at Adult Education and children at the Community Center, and classes to our Navy servicemen and servicewomen.

I have formalized my musical training by completing an Associate of Music Studies Degree at San Diego Mesa College, with an emphasis on several subjects music theory, piano, voice and joining the jazz and classical guitar ensembles.

I'm comfortable teaching in any setting, acoustic or electric guitar, ages 8 to 80, individual or group classes.    Most adult students are retired or busy professionals, so I do not use conventional teaching techniques - I focus on getting them to play songs. Most of my Intermediate Students started with me as beginners, picking up a guitar for the first time. With a vocabulary of just a few chords and rhythms, you can play hundreds of songs!
